5 Ingredient Clean Burger

Hey Friends!

Seems most of the people I talk to miss burgers when they transition to a plant-based lifestyle! (I think I’ve only eaten one non vegan burger in my life) I don’t get the appeal BUT no judgement I have listened and created something delicious! Here are my other burger recipes you can reference as well.



This one is directed more for those who don’t like the taste of meat but still miss the concept of having a burger with all the fillings perhaps. Consuming more whole foods plant based foods is also a great option for your kids, to keep them healthy and happy.  Remember children learn most by mirroring what you do.


Suitable for : gluten free, grain free, dairy and egg free, allium free

Ingredients :

  • Shredded or ground raw cauliflower  

  • Pre- boiled chestnuts  

  • Activated walnuts  

  • Pre-boiled + Shelled Edamame  

  • Maitake or other Japanese mushroom (really great for the umami flavour)  

Condiments you will need: Pink Salt. Pepper. Smoked Paprika. One flax egg, rapeseed oil

When you want to replicate the appearance, taste or texture of any dish it’s important for all the flavours to release before you combine it into a patty. Dice all of the ingredients first (option to pulse in the food processor)

With a touch of rapeseed oil, simmer all of the ingredients with the spices (excluding the flax egg) for a couple of minutes until partially soft.

Pre-heat the oven to medium high heat, and line with a reusable silicone sheet. Carefully mix in the flax egg until the picture has thickened. Form in the flat patties and bake in the oven for 15 minutes.

Now it’s up to you; to be creative and serve it how you wish. This healthy recipe will give your body the nutrients you deserve, full of fibre, good fats and plant protien, at the same time being delicious! I served it with some salsa on top on the side of a freshly mixed spicy Kim chi salad. YUM!

Top Tip! if you have a dehydrator these would be amazing flattened into a cracker or ‘bread’.

-1 Flax Egg = 1 TBSP of ground flax seed to 3 TBSP water, sit for one minute.
